Ashraf Aour, an exceptional student awarded a full scholarship to further his studies at the United World College of the Adriatic in Italy, visited Horizons Academy and met with our principal, Brother Daoud Kassabry.
Ashraf shared his excitement about his educational journey: “I am thrilled to continue my high school studies at the United World College of the Adriatic, a remarkable opportunity afforded to me through Horizons Academy. This institution not only offers a top-tier academic education but also immerses me in a rich, diverse international environment. I am currently engaged in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, which is honing my critical thinking skills and broadening my global perspective. The program also provides me with opportunities to work on projects that intersect science and social service, reinforcing my commitment to making a positive impact.”
He emphasized the transformative nature of his experiences: “Being surrounded by students from various cultures and backgrounds has expanded my horizons and ignited new dreams. My application process required me to demonstrate my leadership abilities and dedication to community development, and I am deeply grateful to my school, Frères, for laying the groundwork for my success. The IGCSE program there significantly enhanced my academic skills and prepared me for the rigors of the IB curriculum. I gained foundational programming skills, developed mobile applications, and led specialized educational workshops. My volunteer experiences, particularly during summer camps, sharpened my sense of responsibility and underscored the importance of giving back to the community.”
