International Lasallian Days for Peace 2024“1 La Salle, our pilgrimage towards Peace“ | September 21st to October 21s

2024 has been a difficult year for peace in our world: there are several war situations in
the Middle East – especially between Israel and Palestine – the war in the Ukraine
continues, there are civil wars in Africa, and there is a lot of migration and displacement
happening around the world due to poverty, conflict, violence, climate change, political
instability and other issues.

More than ever, we as Lasallians need to be united as one charismatic family and to do
something about this terrible situation: pray, donate and be part of civil organizations
and volunteer programs. Our International Lasallian Days for Peace can be an opportunity
to become active. This year we try to connect the IDLP campaign with projects by the La
Salle Global Foundation focusing on migration and displaced persons.

The theme of the International Lasallian Days for Peace is: « 1 La Salle, our Pilgrimage
towards Peace ». On the one hand, the expression ‚One La Salle‘ underlines the idea that
we are more than a network of educational ministries, we are one family and it is
important to show solidarity with fellow Lasallians and make an effort towards global
peace. On the other hand, we would like to invite you to start a pilgrimage through some
of the regions of the Institute and get to know experiences that build peace and fraternity,
especially in the dramatic reality following migration and displacement.

The International Day of Peace, September 21, will mark the beginning of the ILDP.
Between September 21 and October 21 2024, we will present a solidarity project and offer
teaching material each week to provide opportunities to pray, offer possibilities to donate
to the La Salle Global Foundation and to learn about Lasallian projects that promote
peace.
You can find all the material that has been developed by the Commission on Youth in
collaboration with the district of Great Britain, Ireland and Malta in the following Google
Drive folder.

We would also like to invite you to the second episode of “Let’s talk…Lasallian” that will
take place on September 30th at 3pm Rome Time. You will hear a key-note by Jerald
Joseph, President of the Commission on Justice and Peace, learn more about our One La
Salle projects and discuss the topic of peace with Lasallians from all over our Institute.
