La Salle Jerusalem: inaugurating the new facilities of the La Salle Kindergarten

Today, Frères School in Jerusalem marks a significant milestone by inaugurating the new facilities of the La Salle Kindergarten. His Excellency Archbishop Tito Yllana, the Apostolic Nuncio in Jerusalem, led the ceremony with a prayer and sprinkled holy water over the new spaces.

The event was attended by numerous esteemed guests, including Mr. Joseph Hazboun, the General Director of the Pontifical Mission; Dr. Nakhleh Kamel, President of the Board of Trustees; Mr. Georges Nabr; Mr. Ibrahim Mattar; and members of the Parent Committee, Alumni Committee, and many friends of the school.

Following the blessing ceremony, our Tamhidi students, aged 5, showcased their talents with heartfelt speeches and delightful songs. As a gesture of appreciation, small tokens of gratitude were presented to our distinguished guests: Archbishop Tito Yllana, Mr. Joseph Hazboun, Mr. Rodolf Saadeh, and Mr. Gabi Kando.

Here is the inspiring speech delivered by Brother Daoud Kassabry, the school director.

It is with great joy and gratitude that I welcome you all to this special blessing ceremony for our new kindergarten classes at Collège des Frères. A warm welcome to our distinguished guests, the Apostolic Delegate in Jerusalem and the Director of the Pontifical Mission. Your presence here today honors us and underscores the importance of our mission. We are delighted to have you with us as we celebrate a new chapter in the life of our school.

Education is a powerful force that shapes the future. At Collège des Frères, we are proud to carry forward the legacy of the brothers, who have dedicated themselves to the holistic development of our children for nearly 150 years. Our school is more than just a place of learning; it is a cornerstone of the Old City, nurturing young minds and hearts, instilling values that will last a lifetime. Today, as we open our kindergarten, we also embrace a significant change—surrendering our administration space to create an environment where our youngest learners can thrive. This decision reflects our commitment to prioritizing the needs of our children, who deserve the best possible start in their educational journey.

I would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt appreciation for the incredible work of our staff, particularly the Director of our kindergarten Ms Rubina Saadeh, who has been instrumental in making this vision a reality. Thanks to her dedication and leadership, we have taken this significant step forward in expanding our educational offerings. The opening of our kindergarten is a testament to our belief in the importance of early childhood education and our desire to serve the needs of our community.

Finally, I would like to extend our deepest gratitude to our generous donors, especially the Pontifical Mission of Jerusalem. Your unwavering support has made this project possible, allowing us to create a nurturing space for our children to begin their educational journey. Together, we are building a brighter future for the young minds of our community.

Thank you all for being here today, and may this new beginning be blessed with joy, love, and endless possibilities for our children.
