1900 Foundation of “École Saint-Gabriel, Sporting – Alexandria, Egypt”.
Exceptional vintage photos, of a historic Freres-French educational institution founded by Lasallian Brothers (Frères).
It holds a prominent place in the history of francophone education in Egypt and currently serves as the sister school to the famous Collège Saint Marc (opened in 1928) in Alexandria.
Inauguration of the current Campus, the Brothers acquired a seaside plot of land to build a dedicated campus. On April 11, 1926, the main building facing the sea was officially blessed and inaugurated.
St Gabriel Alexandria legacy continues to operate on its historic premises as a private French-language institution. And it is one of the Six Lasallian Freres Schools still functioning in Egypt, four in Cairo and two in Alexandria as follows:
College De La Salle Daher, C. St. Joseph Khoronfish, C. St Jean Baptist Bab El Louk, C. St Paul Choubra, C. St Marc, C. St Gabriel). And the school Celebrated 125 anniversary of its foundation, and works closely with the French cultural network in Egypt.
