“Life—real life—has much to celebrate. True happiness finds, in little things, important reasons to be grateful: a smile, a greeting in the morning, a kind word, or a warm gaze when we are down… So, celebrate life as it is; don’t wait for a perfect one. And start now.” – Brother Juan Carlos Fuertes
As we conclude 2025, these words are our compass. In a year of challenges, the Fratelli Project has focused on the « real life » happening within our walls—the resilience of mothers, the laughter of children, and the dedication of our community.
Vocational Training & Employment
At Fratelli, we believe that « celebrating life » includes the dignity of work and the power of self-reliance. This quarter, our vocational training programs saw incredible dedication from our participants. Whether learning a new craft or refining a professional skill, these sessions are more than just training; they are a path toward a sustainable future.
Q4 Snapshots
We launched our academic cycle with a full house. Our CBECE program welcomed little kids into their first classrooms, while Wings to Fly and Wings 15 provided the critical bridge to formal education. Our School Support initiative continues to ensure that vulnerable children have the tools and tutoring they need to succeed despite the socio-economic crisis in Lebanon.
Community is built on service. We want to highlight Ricardo, a dedicated volunteer whose contribution goes far beyond driving. By navigating the logistics of transporting our children to and from Fratelli, he ensures they have safe access to their « second home » every single day.
The year ended with a celebration of life. From football and basketball championships to the Christmas Championship for our Rouwwad program, our fields were a testament to the joy of sport.
The Holistic Health & Women’s Empowerment Project
This quarter, we went beyond psychosocial support to address the physical well-being of the women in our community through a partnership with Hammoud Hospital.
The Impact on Women’s Health:
Early Detection: In alignment with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we provided 26 mammography screenings and 11 ultrasounds for women requiring further testing.
Comprehensive Care: 60 women from our Multaka Al Ommahat and ANTI programs received full blood tests to assess general health and hormonal balance.
Specialized Visits: The project facilitated 3 pediatrician visits and 3 dietitian consultations to encourage healthy lifestyles for both mothers and their children.
Empowering Motherhood (Multaka Al Ommahat): This program helps 29 mothers navigate the stresses of living in vulnerable conditions with confidence. Topics covered this quarter included self-care, postpartum depression, and the critical first 1,000 days of a child’s life.
To close the year, our women’s groups visited the MILKO Dairy Factory. They toured the production lines to see how healthy food is tested and were provided with packages of fresh yogurt, milk, and cheese to take home.
