A request for prayers from a Lasallian in Pakistan

At least five churches were vandalised and the surrounding Christian settlements were ransacked in Pakistan’s Faisalabad district after a Christian family was accused of blasphemy.

The incident took place on Wednesday in Faisalabad’s Jaranwala area. The local Muslims were enraged after a Christian man, who works as a cleaner, made alleged derogatory remarks against the Quran. Not only was his house demolished, but the mob also vandalised churches and other Christian settlements in the area.

Dear brother and sister’s in Christ please pray for us. Multiple church’s are destroy and burn and also they burn and destroy the houses of Christians in my city Faisalabad, Pakistan situation is not control please pray for us.

Lord, guide our feet into the ways of peace! The global Lasallian Family shares the grief of all women and men of goodwill on the August 16 mob attack against Christian churches and houses in Jaranwala. We pray for timely action by Pakistani authorities so order and the rule of law may be restored in the affected communities. May all those who invoke the name of God work together in harmony to help families and churches rebuild their lives free from fear of further persecution and unjust accusations. We fervently pray for peace in Faisalabad and its surrounding areas. Brother Armin Luistro
