We are excited to welcome the Science, Technology and Society classes to integrate the Museo De La Salle into the curriculum from January 27 to February 7, 2025. The aims of this museum visit are:
• Describe the relationship, development, and impacts of science and technology on society throughout history, in both a global and national context.
• Assess the contributions of ancient civilizations to the development of science, technology, and society.
• Identify the paradigm shifts in history from the prehistoric period to the modern era.
• Examine the development of science and technology in the Philippine context.
• Compare and contrast the contributions of Spanish, American, and Japanese colonizers to the advancement of science and technology in the Philippines.
As part of their enabling assessment, students will create an Arti-card to illustrate the objectives of the topic.
We are deeply grateful to the Office of the Provost, Dr. Cristina Salibay and our Instruction and Curriculum Director, Dr. Beng Obo, as well as the Chair of the Physical Sciences Department, Ms. Susan Sta. Ana, for their support in embedding the Museo De La Salle into the DLSU-D curriculum. We also appreciate the full support of the faculty members who attended the orientation and accompanied their students. We are also thankful to the Lasallian Student Ambassadors for serving as docents.
This program is spearheaded by the Museum Education, Tours, and Program Officer, Dr. Jayson Rufino, LPT
