Formation and Service camp of the Young Lasallians in Egypt

Formation and Service camp of the Young Lasallians in Egypt

Duration: 10 days (from 25th of July to 3rd of August 2024)
Camp theme: Lsasallian Acts
Camp objective:

With the participation of 71 young Lasallians from all over the country, the camp lasted for 10
days, which were divided into 5 days for formation and 5 days for service in eight villages in Upper
Egypt in partnership with the (Association of Upper Egypt for Education and Development)
schools.
Within the framework of the Fraternity in Action program, which had a previous meeting last April,
Lasallians from different parts of the world participated in the camp in Upper Egypt, such as
Austria, Lebanon, Italy, and France, where they participated in the camp, whether by preparing
reflictions and prayers and participating in the formation and service provided to the children in the
last five days of the camp, and also by living the experience and sharing the mission presented
from the young lasallians in Egypt for the most needy children in the villages. In addition to their
distinguished participation in the formation meetings that took place for the youth in the villages
schools where they lived during the service period, they lived within mixed groups that included
young Lasallians from all over Egypt, so that they would be aware of the Lasallian experience and
mission carried out by the youth in Egypt, which in turn shapes and expands their view of the
Lasallian world in its diversity and comprehensiveness, not only by transferring their personal
experience but also by benefiting from living the experience on the ground and looking deeply at
the different methods of meeting the needs with the least available sources.
It was a fruitful opportunity to live all the fraternity actions.
The formation in the camp was based on 4 axes representing the Lasallian Acts (Feel -Dream – Do-Share), and all of these acts are inspired by the life of Saint John Baptiste de La Salle and how
he saw, felt, dreamed, then did, and shared.
From the training axes, the service with the children in Upper Egypt was launched.
