LASMUN’26 officially commenced with a remarkable Opening Ceremony at La Salle Beit Hanina, held from February 13–15, marking the beginning of three days filled with diplomacy, leadership, and meaningful dialogue. Under the leadership of our Secretary-Generals, Fouad Hanna and Mohammad Oweis, alongside our Deputy Secretary-Generals, Maya Kandalaft and Jana Odeh, the conference was launched with vision, passion, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. The ceremony reflected months of preparation and teamwork, setting the tone for an unforgettable experience.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our Model UN Director, Mrs. Aya Saadeh, and our Coordinator, Mrs. Rania Kadamani, whose continuous support and guidance made this conference possible. Special appreciation goes to our school principal, Mr. George Naber, for believing in our vision and empowering student leadership every step of the way.
We were deeply honored by the presence of our distinguished Guests of Honor: Ambassador Javier Gutierrez, Consal General of Spain in Jerusalem and representatives from the U.S. Embassy — Mary Zeit ,Vivian Zambil and Jhoalmo Sibrian whose inspiring words emphasized the global importance of diplomacy and youth engagement.
A heartfelt thank you also goes to the entire LASMUN organizing team, whose dedication, late nights, and tireless efforts turned this vision into reality. The Opening Ceremony was not only a celebration of hard work, but a powerful reminder that when young voices unite, meaningful change begins. We sincerely hope all our guests had a wonderful experience at LASMUN’26 and left inspired by the passion and potential of our delegates.
