Mont La Salle: traditional olive harvesting process

Grade 9 students at Collège des Frères Mont La Salle had an enriching experience in the village of Remhala as they witnessed the traditional olive harvesting process

They observed the workers carefully plucking the ripe olives from the trees, filling baskets with the fresh fruits. The students were amazed at the efficient and methodical way in which the workers worked together to harvest the olives. They learned about the importance of timing and skill in picking the olives to ensure their quality.

The students then followed the workers to the olive press, where they saw the olives being carefully washed and crushed to extract the precious oil. The smell of the fresh olive oil filled the air, and the students were fascinated by the intricate process of producing this staple Mediterranean ingredient. Overall, the students gained a newfound appreciation for the hard work and dedication that goes into producing olive oil in Remhala.
